Repstor Continues to Impress Legal Teams Globally with its Intuitive Solution

  • Sales of Repstor Custodian for Legal™ are soaring as companies globally realize they can transform legal matter lifecycle management capitalizing on their existing O365 investments
  • International Air Transport Association is among the latest customer signings
  • The Top 10 Deloitte Fast 50 Company will attend CLOC Vegas May 14-16

Belfast, UK – May 15th, 2019 – Repstor, the ECM software and matter management specialist, will respond to surging global demand for its corporate legal matter lifecycle management solution for Office 365, custodian for Legal™, by attending the 2019 Corporate Legal Operations Consortium event in Vegas on May 14-16

International Air Transport Association (IATA), the trade association for the world’s airlines headquartered in North America, is among the latest corporations to embrace the software. It is using the software to transform legal matter management across three time zones.

Announcing the purchase in March, Dane Clapson, Assistant General Counsel at IATA, said, “Like a lot of legal teams, we wanted to find better ways to work together and collaborate amongst colleagues.” Although IATA has only just rolled out the software, Dane reports that he has seen hours of duplication eliminated from legal work now colleagues have a clear line of sight across what matters have been referred to the legal department.

Other enthusiastic enterprise customers including Lockton Insurance, Westpac in New Zealand; Frasers Property in Australia; Miral, an asset management company in the UAE; UK National Grid, UK Power Network and Queen’s University in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

At National Grid in the UK, the custodian for Legal rollout was so successful it was entered into The Lawyer Awards 2018, for Most Innovative Use of Technology. Group Head of Legal Operational Excellence, Mo Ajaz, has praised the system’s support for easy collaboration: “There’s improved visibility of where things are and what is happening, and people are retrieving matter-related content easily,” he said.

Significantly, custodian for Legal was developed in collaboration with Eversheds Sutherland Consulting (where it is branded ES/Unity™), a close partner and customer of Repstor. First-hand legal input into the development of the product has cemented its impact for clients.

The software’s collaboration and document management capabilities, optimized for legal users and accessible directly via the familiar interface of Microsoft Outlook, reflect the way people instinctively work. Custodian for Legal’s functionality spans:

  • Client Instruction / Request / Allocation / Triage management
  • Matter-centric document & email management
  • Intuitive collaboration (including external collaboration)
  • Matter Lifecycle Management
  • Management information Reporting
  • Information security
  • Offline and mobile working

Earlier this year, Repstor further bolstered its Americas presence in response to growing demand for custodian for Legal, with new senior appointments in the territory.

IATA Selects Custodian for Legal™ to Transform Legal Collaboration & Record Retention Globally

The Office 365-based matter management software, accessed via Outlook, will bring new order and visibility to case and content management across IATA counsel teams straddling 3 time zones

Belfast, May 14th, 2019 – Repstor, the ECM software and matter management specialist, has announced that International Air Transport Association (IATA), the trade association for the world’s airlines, has chosen Custodian for Legal™ to transform legal matter management across three different time zones by bringing new rigour and consistency to record retention and inter-region collaboration.

IATA, headquartered in Montreal, is an international organisation with over 20 lawyers spread across three regions located in Canada, Switzerland and Singapore. These dispersed teams have to collaborate on workloads despite large time differences. IATA chosen Custodian for Legal™ from Repstor and Konexo to improve visibility and consistency of matter management internationally, boost collaboration and increase record retention.

“We were looking for a better way to manage workloads and content,” says Dane Clapson, Assistant General Counsel at IATA. “Like a lot of legal teams, we wanted to find better ways to work together and collaborate amongst colleagues.”

Record retention was one issue, he explains. “We needed a tool to retain knowledge for the future and to know what the team was working on globally”.

Konexo provides legal services to IATA, introduced the Association to Custodian for Legal™. Custodian for Legal™ is a consultancy-led technology solution that was created as a joint venture between matter management software specialist Repstor and Konexo, specifically to meet the needs of corporate legal teams. It has been widely embraced across the enterprise market because it uses the familiar Microsoft Office 365 suite, and is accessed and used via Outlook, requiring no special changes to the way lawyers and administrators work.

Although IATA has only just rolled out the software, Dane reports that he has seen hours of duplication eliminated from legal work now colleagues have a clear line of sight across what matters have been referred to the legal department.

London Law Firm Anthony Gold Chooses Repstor Custodian for Legal™

The O365-based software, which benefits from the familiarity of Outlook, will restore order to email filing, enhance remote collaboration and provide more granular content security

Belfast, February 19th, 2019 – Repstor, the ECM software and matter management specialist, has announced that Anthony Gold, the UK200 London-based law firm, has chosen custodian for Legal™ to enhance matter management with its intuitive, Outlook-based approach to email and document management.

Anthony Gold employs around 170 people across three locations in London, and at least half of its fee-earners and partners work flexibly from home at least some of the time – a critical factor in retaining top talent. The firm has turned to custodian for Legal from Repstor to make remote collaboration easier, and to reduce the time being lost daily to email filing.

“Filing and email management are a huge consumer of time, because of the sheer volumes of messages transmitted each day in relation to client matters,” explains David Marshall, a partner at the firm. “They have to be stored in the correct client spaces, but this was taking longer each day.”

Custodian for Legal appealed because it reflects the way people naturally work within Outlook, while ensuring that emails and their attachments are stored in the right locations. “It’s very intuitive, so correct email filing is something users will be able to do almost without thinking,” he says. “As a non-techie, I was particularly impressed with how easy to use the software is without special training. This will make a huge difference in ensuring everyone uses it routinely.

“Better still, the software makes fuller use of our existing Outlook 365 investment – cloud space we have already paid for – which makes custodian for Legal a very economical option,” he adds.

Anthony Gold will roll out the new software in stages over the next six months so it can build on each practice group’s experiences. “It’s a pragmatic installation plan, which we liked,” David says.

In due course, the firm wants to make use of shared workplaces with clients, so legal teams can collaborate and share documents with clients securely online. “The discrete security options with custodian for Legal are very useful,” David notes. “It means we can lock down individual matters or practice groups, so only certain people can access the content.” Other plans include linking the software to document production and work with documents.

Repstor Wins Over the US Legal Sector with its No-Fuss Transformation of Matter Management Using Everyday Software

• The US legal market sees major growth as firms see the benefits of organising and interacting with case files and matter correspondence via existing software platforms
• New strategic appointments pre-empt rising demand as new client signings surge
• The Top 10 Deloitte Fast 50 Company will attend the US’s largest legal conference in New York later this month

Belfast, January 11th, 2019 – Repstor, the ECM software and matter management specialist, has announced two new strategic appointments in the US to capitalise on high demand for its legal sector solution, custodian for Legal™, in the Americas.

Repstor has expanded its sales team in the region with two established names in legal content management software, Robert Swan and Robert Scroggs. Robert Swan, who joined Repstor as VP Sales, Legal Solutions for the Americas in late 2018, and is based in the Greater Atlanta area, will focus on building the company’s legal market penetration in the region. He is assisted by Robert Scroggs as pre-sales technical consultant, who is based between Tampa, Florida and St Petersburg.

Robert Swan was previously VP of Legal Technology at IST Management Services, and his career to date has spanned a range of content management and legal technology roles with major industry players. Robert Scroggs is an experienced business analyst, who has also amassed enviable experience at document management and workflow technology companies, including iManage.

Repstor’s latest strategic recruitment drive follows the appointment of Dr. Petri I. Salonen as General Manager for the Americas, a year ago. Over the last 12 months he has been building a channel for Repstor in the Americas region and growing enterprise sales. Robert Swan and Robert Scroggs will extend that effort specifically to the legal sector in the region.

Custodian for Legal, Repstor’s Office 365-based matter and knowledge management system, has struck a chord with legal teams on both sides of the Atlantic. Its collaboration and document management capabilities, optimised for legal users, harness the powerful and familiar interface of Microsoft Outlook and other Office applications, reflecting the way people instinctively interact and share information and documents with clients and colleagues.

The software is used worldwide by law firms and internal corporate legal teams, and by 5 of the top 10 global management consultancies. Recent new wins include law firm McAllister Olivarius, and the legal department of medical device manufacturer Terumo Europe.

Repstor’s legal matter management business is growing globally too. Last summer the company appointed a new Principal Consultant for its Legal & Professional Services division in Europe. Leigh Smith joined from global law firm Eversheds Sutherland.

To capitalise on Repstor’s growing profile in the Americas, the company will be exhibiting at the LegalTech Show in New York later this month. Repstor will join 9,000 industry associates and 400 exhibitors from January 29-31 at the US’s largest and longest-standing legal technology event. Repstor will host booth #119 at the event at the New York Hilton in the centre of the city.

The announcements are the latest in a run of achievements for Repstor which made the top 10 listings in the 2018 Deloitte Technology Fast 50. The annual awards celebrate indigenous Irish technology companies that have demonstrated exceptional growth.

Commenting on Repstor’s continued plans for international expansion, especially in the legal sector, Alan McMillen, the company’s CEO, said: “We’ve optimised solutions for this market, which we know well. It has been clear for some time now that, by harnessing legal teams’ existing software platforms rather than expecting them to implement completely new systems, we have met a previously untapped need. With a focused team in place, we foresee enormous potential.”

McAllister Olivarius deploys Repstor technologies for flexible matter management

Belfast, December 18th , 2018Repstor, the ECM software and matter management specialist, today announced that international law firm McAllister Olivarius has selected its affinity™ and assist™ solutions, to provide direct filing of case-related emails in SharePoint Online from Outlook.

The firm had migrated its office productivity, document management and collaboration tools to the cloud, adopting Microsoft SharePoint Online within Microsoft Office 365 (O365) as its new standardised application platform. However, McAllister Olivarius needed a way of organising and filing case related documents and emails.

This meant introducing a complete and reliable record of all correspondence, all retained in – and easily accessible from – a single central place. Repstor provides this platform and extends the powerful collaboration capabilities of Microsoft Office 365/SharePoint with a matter-centric collaboration and document management solution for legal matter management.

“Repstor has a very stable product which I can see becoming the de facto option for legal matter management in SharePoint Online,” explains Honza Cervenka, IT project manager, McAllister Olivarius. “The experience feels very familiar and intuitive to users, and the software is highly versatile. It’s also backed up by a great level of local support.”

An early trial confirmed that Repstor affinity and assist were a good fit, and supplemented SharePoint Online’s built-in browser interface well. The solution was deployed rapidly, thanks to Repstor’s specialist product consultants.

Next, the firm is due to trial Repstor’s mobile solution and Honza is enthusiastic about the potential for McAllister Olivarius team members to use Repstor’s email filing and access capabilities on the move: “As we are an international firm, our fee earners travel a lot, so having the ability to file case-related correspondence between locations will be invaluable in keeping our lawyers productive and in the loop,” adds Honza.

“We are delighted that another international law firm is benefitting from the flexibility, security and ease-of-use provided by Repstor,” comments Sheila Gormley, Global Head of Repstor’s Legal Solutions Division. “It further demonstrates how we are disrupting the market in legal matter management, allowing McAllister Olivarius to fully benefit from the wider suite of Microsoft’s cloud offerings.”

There’s No Stopping Repstor – Now in the Deloitte Top 10 for Rapid Growth Tech Firms

Belfast, November 12th, 2018 – Repstor, the ECM software and matter management specialist, has seen its meteoric rise celebrated for the second consecutive year – this time with a top-10 ranking in the 2018 Deloitte Technology Fast 50. It entered the list for the first time last year, in 11th place.

The Deloitte Fast 50 awards, now in their 19th year, celebrate indigenous Irish technology companies that have demonstrated exceptional growth in turnover in the last four years. After doubling its turnover last year Belfast-based Repstor relocated to the iconic Scottish Provident Building to accommodate its rapidly-expanding team. In 2018 the business has continued to see its fortunes soar – in the UK and overseas.

Repstor’s intuitive and affordable software tools, affinity, assist and custodian, transform productivity and efficiency for knowledge workers. They make it easy and routine to manage case-related emails and content using Office 365 and popular file repositories like SharePoint, M-Files and OpenText. Its products have attracted particular interest from legal teams, project management organisations, HR departments and other organisations which need to keep track of complex cases, contracts and legal matters.

Congratulating this year’s winners, Peter Allen, a partner at Deloitte (NI) Ltd, commented: “These awards recognise Irish technology companies at the cutting edge – companies that are operating in an uncertain international marketplace. And yet they are prospering, and it was particularly evident this year that the vast majority of revenues for the ranking companies are coming from exports. This demonstrates the impact Irish indigenous tech companies are having in global markets.”

Commenting on Repstor’s no 10 ranking this year, Alan McMillen, Repstor’s CEO, said: “This is fantastic news, building on last year’s success and emphasising our continued growth in our chosen markets. We’ve had another phenomenal year, our recruitment initiatives are drawing some enviable talent, and we’re confident given the momentum we are seeing that we will be back again next year.”

Repstor’s matter management solution, custodian for legal™ continues to deliver substantial success too, with clients ranging from Miral and Client Earth to National Grid, Queen’s University Belfast and Wellcome Trust.

Repstor continues its recruitment drive. A full list of current job opportunities can be found here on the Repstor Careers Page .
